Generally,tempered glass should not be used in roof,ceiling and skylight.Due to various factors such as snow load,possible walking of maintenance personnel and safety of personnel under the glass,when the higher point of roof glass is more than 5m above the ground,tempered glass cannot be used in these parts.As required,tempered laminated glass should not be used in these parts.After the toughened laminated glass is broken,it will also fall due to its own weight or other load effects;The floor cannot adhere to the original shape and has no strength after the broken tempered glass,so the tempered glass is not suitable for floor glass,especially the suspended floor.The floor glass shall be laminated glass,and the surface of the floor glass used for pedestrians shall also be subject to anti-skid treatment;Generally,the thickness of tempered glass used for railings and frameless balconies of high-rise buildings that do not accept horizontal load shall not be less than 5mm,and the thickness of tempered glass used for railings that accept horizontal load shall not be less than 12mm.
However,toughened glass should not be used for railings and frameless balconies on high-rise buildings.This is because sometimes,after the tempered glass is broken,some fragments will not separate,but stick to the original shape,especially thick glass,which will form a relatively heavy broken glass block.
When such broken glass blocks fall from high altitude,they will also cause great harm to pedestrians on the ground,and even present casualties;Other occasions where the glass is still required to adhere to the position without missing shape after the glass is broken,or where the damage to people caused by glass fragments is required to drop in a large limit.
